Tennessee State Laws
If you are under age 18, when you drive with your learner’s permit you will need to be accompanied by a parent, stepparent, grandparent or legal guardian, who has a valid driver license themselves and who is in the front seat with you. If you are age 18 or older, you may be accompanied by any licensed driver who is over age 18.
